<p>The invention concerns a wide-spectrum compact ultrabrief laser source comprising a rare-earth ion primary laser source (6). Said source (6) is pumped by a pump light flux (9) centred on a wavelength μD, said flux (9) being emitted by a solid laser pump source (8). The primary source (6) emits a primary light flux (7) centred on a wavelength μL of spectral width ΔμL. The latter is injected via an optical injection (10) into a photonic crystal fibre (2) having a length L, a cross-section d, and a set of cavities (4) of diameter ζ. A coupling optics (15) collects the light flux (12) at the output of the photonic crystal fibre (2). Said light flux (12) is centred on a wavelength μF and has a spectral width ΔμF. The spectrum is subjected in the photonic crystal fibre (2) to an enlargement which is due for more than 50% to phase self-modulation.</p> |
