Provision of an imperceptible pattern on a print surface using electrically conducting ink to create a barcode type pattern with an analogue pattern parallel to the bars for measurement in a direction perpendicular to the barcode

Information support that forms a surface on which visual information can be printed and in addition an overlapping position pattern that can be machine read and does not interfere with reading of information on the support. The pattern comprises two patterns in the form of a bar code. The position is determined from the numbered bars in one coordinate direction and in the direction parallel to the bars by an analogue pattern. Independent claims are made for a method for determining the position on a data support and for a reading device. The device comprises a point-measurement type read head that detects the electrically conducting strips on the paper or medium that are created using conducting ink.
