PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and correctly correct a color conversion definition in relation to a method for correcting the color conversion definition when a proof image based on converted image data is outputted after image data for a target device is converted to image data for a proofer with the use of the color conversion definition comprising a combination of a profile of the target device which outputs images based on image data and a profile of the proofer which outputs images based on image data. SOLUTION: A patch having a desired mesh % is added to a color chart preliminarily prepared to correct a printing profile. The color chart having the patch added is outputted by both a printing machine and the proofer. Colorimetric values of the color charts are compared with each other, and the printing profile is corrected.
