PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper cutting apparatus providing for good cutting results without wrinkling paper even if the paper loaded is low in stiffness. SOLUTION: The paper cutting apparatus comprises a fixed blade formed in a straight shape along its longitudinal direction, a moving blade for cutting paper by running while abutting the fixed blade, a moving-blade carrier for holding the moving blade, and a moving-blade driving means for driving the carrier to reciprocate along the longitudinal direction of the fixed blade. A paper holding roller for non-movably holding the paper is mounted to the moving-blade carrier.
