A biochip has many probe positions, each containing many molecules of a nucleic acid probe (I), where one (I) has a length of 20 bases identical with, or complementary to, a segment of a rat liver sequence. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) ascertaining probe sequences for a biochip; and (2) a biochip, in which (I) have been selected by method (1).
