<p>A method for treating a plastic waste comprising a polystyrene based plastic containing a flame retardant,characterized in that it comprises dissolving the plastic waste comprising a polystyrene based plastic containing a flame retardant in a solvent capable of dissolving the polystyrene based plastic,and subjecting the resulting liquid mixture to centrifugal separation,to thereby separate and recover the polystyrene based plastic;and an apparatus for practicing the method.The method allows the separation of a flame retardant and a polystyrene based plastic contained in a plastic waste and the recovery of both of them with ease and with no excessive heat treatment,which leads to the promotion of the recycle of household electrical appliances.</p> |
