Production of pharmaceutical preparations (A) (or their precursors) in the form of a dispersion of particles (I) with a distribution of charges comprises at least part of the particles in the dispersion separated using ion exchangers (II) or by electrophoresis. Independent claims are also included for: (1) (A) obtained by the process; and (2) apparatus for the process, including a separation zone having an inlet and outlet and containing (II).
