PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutting means capable of easily and smoothly cutting an optical fiber in a way that protects a cutter from nicking, without damaging the outer periphery of the optical fiber nor breaking the optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cutting means 10 includes a first blade 11 which advances in cutting direction to cut the optical fiber 20, and a support member provided oppositely to the cutting direction for supporting the optical fiber 20 at its tip formed by the lines of intersection of two planes which intersect at an acute angle. Because the optical fiber 20 being cut is stably supported by the tip of the support member, smooth cut surfaces can be produced.
