PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of taking a vivid photograph in focus, by performing appropriate focusing for each image size. SOLUTION: When a switch SW1 is turned on (S1), communication with a photographic lens 2 is started (S2) so as to confirm image size information (S3). In the case of deciding that the image size is large as the result of confirmation on the image size information, focus detecting arithmetic operation is performed (S7), and focusing width to be set, when the image size is large is set, based on the image size information (S8). For example, if the focusing width of the image size A is defined to be 60μm, respective focusing width is decided, such as A=60μm, B=40μm and C=20μm. Based on the decided focusing width, focusing decision is performed (S9). Whether or not focusing is attained is discriminated (S10), and when focusing is attained and a switch SW2 is turned on, pre-release driving processing is performed. |
