PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface protective film in which the pressure-sensitive adhesive forced out of the edge part is difficult to stick to the surface of the protective film and can be easily removed even if sticks, and the printing of information on the film surface by ink-jetting or stamping can be surely done, and also a water brush-washing can be applied by virtue of the water repellency and water resistance of a polymer layer. SOLUTION: The surface protective film has a base material 1, one side surface of which is provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 2 and the other side surface of which is provided with such a polymer layer 3 that the polymer layer 3 has water repellency and dirt proofness, furthermore has the ink printability and ink adhesivity for the printing to be done on the surface of the polymer layer 3, the above ink 5 being adhered and fixed to this polymer layer 3.
