PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for manufacturing a optical fiber cable housed in metal pipe, by which a margin length is given on-line and the margin length rate is arbitrarily adjustable. SOLUTION: The device 1 for manufacturing the optical fiber cable housed in metal pipe, by which optical fiber cable housed in metal pipe is continuously manufactured by introducing an optical fiber 5 into a metal pipe 6, is provided with a pipe shaping mechanism 4 which continuously shapes the metal pipe 6 from a metal sheet 2, an optical fiber feed mechanism 7, which continuously feeds the optical fiber 5 into the continuously shaped metal pipe 6 and a mechanism for giving margin length 9, which gives a prescribed margin length by adjusting the feed length of the optical fiber 5, before the optical fiber 5 is introduced into the metal pipe.
