PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array in which coated optical fibers can be arrayed with a specified pitch, without forming V-grooves or the like on a substrate. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array 1 is composed of a plurality of coated optical fibers (fibers) 2 and a sticking fixing part 3 that holds the fibers with a specified pitch in a fixedly stuck state using an adhesive 15. The sticking fixing part 3 is equipped with a substrate 7 and a cover plate 8, between which an optical fiber installing hole 15 of a rectangular cross section is formed dividedly. The horizontal width of this hole is the sum of the outer diameters of the fibers to be arrayed, while the vertical width is made equal to the outer diameter of one fiber. By forming the fibers 2 manufactured with precision, an arrangement of the fibers with a specified pitch can be formed, by merely arraying the fibers 2 in the optical fiber installing hole 15. Therefore, there is no need of machining V-grooves or the like on the substrate.
