PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element, with which a three dimensional and distinctive-looking information display can be obtained. SOLUTION: The information display screen is constructed as a double layer structure by arranging a passive driven liquid crystal display panel 3 on the front surface side of an active driven liquid crystal display panel 2 with a backlight arranged on the rear side, holding a gap between the panels 3 and 2.
