An electronic album device of the invention recognizes the respective folder structures of a card and a disk, and copies files from the card to the disk by changing the folder number of each folder on the card to a number M'' which is different from any of folder numbers on the disk while maintaining the same folder structure prepared on the card. Even in the case where the files are copied from the card to the disk and then written back to the card again, the file on the card can be reproduced with the digital camera originally used.
