PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imager recording position adjusting method capable of accurately correcting the recording position by reciprocating movement of a recording head. SOLUTION: A printing operation in the forward path of a carriage is executed with plural sets of blocks of a predetermined number of K color parallel bars with the tilt correction (200, 208), and a printing operation in the backward path of the carriage is executed with parallel bars of each color disposed between the K color parallel bars, displaced each by different displacement amount per block (202, 210). By detecting the density of the parallel bars in the printed matter by an optical detecting means so as to find out the block with the highest density (204, 212), and setting the detected block displacement amount as the reciprocation displacement amount of the color, the color reciprocation displacement correction is executed (206, 214). The reciprocation displacement correction is executed for each color in the same manner. |
