PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric power steering device, allowing the detection of a steering center by using a conventionally existing sensor only and the detection of a steering angle without using a steering angle sensor. SOLUTION: The control device for the electric power steering device controls a motor to give steering assisting force to a steering mechanism in accordance with a current control value computed from a steering assisting command value computed by computing means in accordance with steering torque generated in a steering shaft and a current value for the motor. A steering center position is detected in accordance with a SAT estimated value, a vehicle speed and a steering torque signal and a steering angle is detected in accordance with the steering center position and a motor rotational angle signal. |
