PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmission plate with intensified luminance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same and a liquid crystal display device utilizing the. SOLUTION: Luminance intensifying recessions (114) to improve the luminance and luminance uniformity are formed on a light reflecting surface of the light transmission plate which converts optical distribution based on a linear light source to optical distribution based on a surface light source and a luminance concentrating pattern (172) to concentrate the luminance is formed on a light emitting surface. By changing construction of the light transmission plate in this manner, the luminance and the luminance uniformity of light are improved. Because use of a diffusion sheet, a prism sheet, a reflection plate or the like to improve optical uniformity is not necessary anymore, total weight and total volume of the liquid crystal display device are reduced to a large extent. |
