摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a planar display element whose display quality is excellent in a high yield by preventing the damage of a polarized light reflection layer or a glass substrate caused by an impact when it is cut out, when the planar display element having the polarized light reflection layer on the inner surface thereof is cut out in a prescribed size. SOLUTION: A cholesteric liquid crystal polymer layer 27 is formed on the entire surface of a second large glass plate 63 for forming counter substrates 12 and then the cholesteric liquid crystal polymer layer 27 in a cutting line 64 area is thermally removed by using a laser device 70 and the like or mechanically removed by using a rubber blade 72. After that, a first and the second large glass plates 62 and 63 are stuck to each other by a sealing agent 14 and cut out along the cutting line 64 to obtain liquid crystal display element 10.
