PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting the damage of a heat generating circuit by actually generating heat at a low temperature so far as possible without using a special apparatus and its device. SOLUTION: In the heat-generating testing method and device for a heat generating circuit (not shown) for an antifreeze device with a heating element 1 for preventing the freeze of a distributing pipe, a temperature sensing section 6 and a control section 7 controlling the electric conduction of the heating element 1 on the basis of an output signal from the temperature sensing section 6, the control section 7 starts an electric conduction through the heating element 1 when a heat generating test is started, and whether or not the sensing temperature of the temperature sensing section 6 reaches an acceptance-rejection decision temperature set at a value higher by a fixed temperature width (Fig. 2) than a detecting temperature in the case of a test starting within a predetermined electric-conduction time (t) (Fig. 2).
