PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grain grade discrimination device, capable of setting automatically a precise threshold, without causing a worker to intentionally select the threshold. SOLUTION: This grain grade discrimination device 1 is equipped with a transfer part 4 for transferring supplied grain, optical detection parts 23a, 23b for irradiating the grain with a light and receiving light from the grain, and a grade discrimination part 41 for discriminating the grade, by comparing the received light signal from the optical detection part with the threshold set beforehand. The device is also equipped with a threshold selection means 37 for acquiring optical detection data from the prescribed number of sample grain transferred to the optical detection parts 23a, 23b by the transfer part 4 from among the supplied grain and selecting the threshold, suitable for the sample grain from among the plural thresholds set beforehand, based on sample data of the sample grain acquired from the optical detection data.
