PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous multicolor-patterning paint composition consisting of an aqueous paint free from the problem of air pollution caused by smell during painting and a solvent diffused into air, having excellent mechanical stirring stability, and suitable for various painting methods using a spray, a roller, a brush or the like. SOLUTION: Colored polymer particles are prepared by adding a heat- sensitive gelling-type emulsion composition containing an aqueous synthetic resin emulsion, a heat-sensitive gelling-agent and a coloring agent dropwise into water having a temperature higher than the gelling temperature of the composition, to gel the emulsion composition. The aqueous multicolor-patterning paint composition contains two or more kinds of the colored polymer particles and a clear paint of an aqueous synthetic resin emulsion. The color tones of the colored polymer particles are different from each other.
