PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing in high yield a sulfenamide useful as a rubber vulcanizing agent or having a physio logical activity/safely without using any harmful reagents. SOLUTION: This method for producing the sulfenamide compound such as the N-substituted sulfenamide of general formula (1) (where, R<1> is an alkyl or cycloalkyl; R<2> is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, nitro group or halogen atom; n is 0-4; and R<3> is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aromatic group or heterocyclic group) comprises reaction between a 2-sulfenamoylbenzoic ester compound of general formula (2) and an amine of general formula (3).
