METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHLOROGLUCIDES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing phloroglucides useful as a positive type photoresist material in high yield under mild conditions by using an inexpensive readily available reagent. SOLUTION: Phloroglucide or its nuclear substituted derivative is reacted in the presence of acetonitrile in a hydrohalogenic acid to dehydrating condensation to produce the corresponding phloroglucides.
