PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens capable of obtaining proper optical performance, at optional zoom positions in a variable power range. SOLUTION: This zoom lens has a 1st group having positive refractive power, a 2nd group having negative refractive power, a 3rd group having positive refractive power and a 4th group having positive refractive power in this order starting from the object side, and the space between the respective groups is changed in the case of variable power. The 4th group which is a moving group, in the case of performing the variable power of a lens entire system from a wide angle end to a telephoto end, is constituted of a single lens, consisting of at least two or more positive and negative lenses and satisfies the conditional expression: 1<νn-νp<30, whereνn is the Abbe number of the negative lens of the 4th group andνp is the Abbe number of the positive lens of the 4th group.
