The mechanical cleaning device for the cleaning out of roof guttering has a plate-form working head and a straight shaft-like handle. The working head (2) in its lower region (6) has an edge profile (7) which accurately conforms to the shape of the guttering, and its upper region (8) has an edge profile (9) recessed inwards in kidney form. The handle (3) fits in the middle of the working head and extends orthogonally to it. The plate-form working head is constructed as a short annular segment conforming to the dimensions of the guttering and provided with rounded corners (5).
