PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-focusing decision method for single AF scan, which is capable of speeding up processing by rapidly subjecting a subject of such a low contrast as to make focusing infeasible. SOLUTION: When the number of acquired pieces of AF data is larger than N and the maximum value of the acquired AF data is smaller than the threshold of the data, deciding the low-contrast subject decision of the case the detection of the increase or decrease of the significance of the data is not possible in the AF scan, it is is decided as being non-focusing and the AF processing is stopped. In the case the conditions described above are not satisfied, it is decided as being non-focusing and the AF processing is stopped, upon the arrival at the nearest end position at the start of the scan, from a scan start specific region 20 set near the infinite end position. As a result, the accelerated speed for the AF processing is made possible, and a user is able to rapidly deal with the processing as well. |
