PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sealing material from infiltrating into a display area. SOLUTION: The starting and the ending points of the application of a sealing material are positioned outside a display area and superposed on each other. Thereby, even if the width of the superposed part of the sealing material is expanded by sticking substrates to each other, the sealing material never infiltrates into the display area.
