PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive without causing warp of plywood, an occurrence of waving and poor temporary bonding, and having improvement of a wood-treating rate and high effects of preventing a puncture occurrence when manufacturing plywood using a phenolic resin composition. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition for an adhesive of plywood comprises containing one or more compounds selected from a lignin and its derivative, and a tannin and its derivative in an alkali phenol resin obtained by reacting phenols with aldehydes in the presence of an alkali catalyst, or skeletons of lignins or tannins introduced into the resin.
