Flat boards with male and female edges in the form of ribs and grooves shaped so that two boards can be fitted together at an angle and then flattened out to form a locked joint which cannot be separated by pulling in opposite parallel directions without breaking the edges. A product with upper and lower flat faces and with male edge(s) and female edge(s) shaped in such a way that two adjacent products can be fitted together by (a) bringing male and female edges together with an angle alpha between the lower faces of the two products, (b) inserting the male edge of one product into the female edge of the other, and (c) aligning the two products with their lower faces in the same plane so that a joint with no gap is formed and the two products cannot be separated by pulling in opposite (parallel) directions without destroying the male and/or female edge. An independent claim is also included for a similar product in which (a) each male and female edge has a reference surface or plane (RP) at the same distance from the upper face, (b) the male edge has an inclined rib with a rounded distal end above the RP and a first groove between the rib and the upper face, with an angle theta between the lower side of the rib and the RP and an angle psi between the upper side of the rib and the RP, such that psi is less than theta , (c) the upper side of the rib also forms a second lower side of this first groove which has a second upper side connected to the second lower side by a first rounded cut-out part and meeting the upper side of the edge which itself meets the upper flat face, (d) the male has a second groove under the RP with corresponding cut-out sides and faces meeting the lower flat face, (e) the female edge has a complementary profile which fits the male edge of the adjacent product in such a way that there is no gap from at least one point below and next to the upper flat face to at least one point above and next to the lower flat face.
