Heat exchanger device comprises a core part (110) formed by a number of pipes (111) containing fluid, a side plate (130) arranged at one end of the core part to reinforce the core part, a fan for blowing air against the core part and a sleeve covering a gap between the core part and the fan to prevent air sucked through the fan from bypassing the core part. A stopper part is provided in the sleeve opposite the side plate with a pre-defined gap in between. The size of the gap between the stopper part and the side plate is smaller than the size of the gap between the core part and regions below the sleeve, with the exception of the stopper part. Independent claims are also included for an alternative heat exchanger device, and for alternative constructions of the front end of a vehicle.
