The safety device has at least one airbag module with an inner gas bag (1) and an outer gas bag (2) and at least one 2-stage gas generator (3), with inflation of the inner gas bag by detonation of the first gas generator stage and rupture of the inner gas bag along a defined rupture line, by detonation of the second gas generator stage, for inflation of the outer gas bag.
