Medicinal compositions and myelination promoters containing as the active ingredient a substance capable of activating Fc receptor ϝ−chain (excluding immunoglobulin for intravenous injection). Oligodendroglia precursor cells differentiation promoters, Fyn tyrosine kinase activators and myelin basic protein expression promoters containing as the active ingredient a substance capable of activating Fc receptor ϝ−chain. A method of detecting oligodendroglias capable of forming myelin or precursor cells thereof with the use of the expression of Fc receptor ϝ−chain in the oligodendroglias or precursor cells thereof as an indication.
