PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium having high recording characteristics and having a high stability capable of sufficiently maintaining the recording characteristics for a long period. SOLUTION: The information recording medium comprises a recording layer capable of recording information by a laser beam on a substrate. In this medium, the recording layer contains at least one type of a compound represented by formula (I), wherein R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic ring, X is an anion, m is 0, 1 or 2, A is a group represented by formula (II) or (III), n is 1 or 2, at least one of aromatic rings of formula (I) is substituted by an acyl group, an alkylsulfonyl group, an arylsulfonyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a sulfamoyl group, a nitro group or a cyano group. |
