PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and device for calibrating a color printer based on a change of a brightness and a chrominance detected in at least a part of printed color. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step for executing calibration in a first layer based on a brightness value measured in test printing (133) and for changing a related linear parameter (124) so as to reduce the difference of the brightness value when the measured brightness value is different from a corresponding desired brightness value. The method further comprises a step for executing calibration in a second layer based on a brightness value and a chrominance measured in the succeeding printing and for changing a related color conversion parameter (120) so as to reduce the differences of the brightness value and the chrominance value when each of the measured brightness value and chrominance value is different from the corresponding desired brightness value and chrominance, respectively. |
