Automatic signal level adjustment method for speech recognition system uses adjustment of amplification factor dependent on measured speech signal level

The signal level adjustment method uses automatic amplification regulation via measurement of the speech signal level, the adjusted amplification factor calculated from measured values within the speech section of the speech signal, identified from the signal pitch or base frequency. A time constant for estimation of the signal level is used for preventing rapid variations in the amplification factor.
