PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which uses an underground ball-type fire hydrant and makes it possible to investigate the conditions of a distributing pipe, such as leakage, without cut-off in water supply. SOLUTION: This endoscope is used to observe the conditions in the distributing pipe 73 without cutting off, the water supply from the fire-hydrant 70 connected to the pipe. A cable 34 is led outside in a water-tight state advancebly and retreatably to and from the fire hydrant. An endoscope body section 33 is provided with leg sections 103, which expand outward within the distributing pipe 73 and arranges the endoscope body section in the central part of the distributing pipe. The respective leg sections comprise belt-like leaf springs, respectively and are bent into a shape bulged to an arc shape in a direction where the central parts 103c in a longitudinal direction of separating from the endoscope. While the rear ends 103a of the leaf springs are fixed to the endoscope body section, their front ends 103b are held slidably relative to the endoscope body section, by which the bulging parts 103c can be collapsed, while the front ends are slid forward. |
