PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device in which the adjustment precision of a rotation angle is improved by securing straightness when adjusting the rotation angle of a thin linear member having a property asymmetrical to the central axis of a polarized wave fiber, etc. SOLUTION: A V-groove 4 is formed on the upper surface of a receiving base 3. A suction hole 7 is formed at the bottom of the V-groove 4. A work 1 (thin linear member) is placed in the V-groove 4 in parallel to the axial direction of the V-groove 4, and positioning in the surface vertical to the axial direction is carried out, and positioning in the axial direction is also carried out. Next, the work 1 is rotated around the central axis while sucking air in a space enclosed by the inner surface of the V-groove 4 and the outer peripheral surface of the work 1 through the suction hole 7, and the rotation angle is adjusted to a target angle.
