PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor capable of securely preventing vibrations and reducing the abrasion of a cylinder and a piston. SOLUTION: A compression chamber 3 is formed by engaging the piston 1 and the cylinder 2, and the cylinder 2 is connected to a linear motor 5 via a connecting member 11. Both ends of the cylinder 2 are supported by flexure bearings 7 and 7 disposed in the same direction so that the directions of spiral of spiral grooves are the same. When the cylinder 2 is drive by the linear motor 5, the cylinder 2 is moved in the axial direction and the connecting part of the flexure bearings 7 and 7 with the cylinder 2 is rotated around the axis. Since the flexure bearings 7 and 7 are disposed in the same direction, both ends of the cylinder 2 are rotated in the same direction, so that the cylinder 2 is rotated around the same axis as the piston 1 and the cylinder 2, the cylinder and the piston 1 don't touch each other.
