PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly heat a room even when it is cold in midwinter and to consider lifetimes of a heating element and other component. SOLUTION: A warm air heater comprises the heating element (3) for generating warm air; a warm air sensing means (1) for sensing an ambient temperature to output ambient temperature information; and a control means (2) for judging whether an ignition limiting combustion is executed or not based on the ambient temperature information sensed by the means (1) at an initial time of starting a heating operation, for executing the ignition limiting combustion if its result is judged to correspond to the ignition limiting combustion, and then for operating the element (3) by the special maximum output larger than a maximum output at a normal time and changing the special maximum output based on the ambient temperature information.
