PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide combustion equipment provided with automatic discrimination function for the kind of a fuel gas demonstrating a stable combustibility even during determination process of the kind of a gas. SOLUTION: During the process of discrimination of the kind of a gas by the automatic discrimination means in the combustion equipment, the highest combustion performance is controlled to a predetermined capacity value, thus occurrence of oscillating combustion due to excessive input is prevented. After the determination process is over, the above control is released, and the operation is effected at an intrinsic capacity of the equipment.
