PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material discharge device with stiffening means (stiffening rollers) which are easily mountable to and demountable from a discharging roller shaft and do not generate linear velocity difference from a discharging roller. SOLUTION: A stiffening roller 1, an integrally molded part made of elastic resin has a C-shaped part 2 with a cut-out part 3 which is arranged by cutting out a section on a shaft hale 8 large enough to rotate the roller freely around the discharging roller shaft, and a disk-shaped member with projecting part 4 that fits to cut-out part of another stiffening roller. A pair of stiffening rollers ore assembled to the roller shaft. A pair of stiffening rollers are mounted to the shaft by inserting to the shaft from each opposing side of the roller shaft while expanding the elastic cut-out part 3, and fitting the cut-out part and the projecting part into each other. The stiffening rollers can be mounted to the rotating shaft securely and are capable of keeping the appropriate shape of peripheral surface of the stiffening rollers that affect the sheet and thus can provide stable stiffening action.
