摘要 An open-end textile spinning assembly has a mobile robotic maintenance unit which moves as required between work stations and a parking position. During the final stage of motion towards the stopping point, a pre-determined braking action is triggered which is proportional to the current speed and the distance to run, bringing the robot to an accurate halt. The braking action is initiated at the normal speed, first reducing the motion to a crawl, at which speed the robot (2) continues until reaching a point at which final deceleration is initiated. During the crawl phase cleaning action is initiated of the speed control sensor (4). The sensor (4) is a laser beam (L1) directed to a finite-width reflector (43) at each work station. Also claimed is a commensurate robotic maintenance unit and operating system.
