The air spring has at least a cover, piston (3) and bellows (4), to form an air chamber with an elastic volume capacity. The bellows are secured to the cover at one end and to the piston at the other end (6). The cylindrical section (7) of the bellows is between its two ends, with a loop (8) at the lower end, to roll against the outer wall (10) of the piston. The thickness (A) of the bellows wall at the loop is smaller at 2 mm than the bellows wall thickness (B) at the cylindrical section of /-2 mm, in a thickness ratio A:B of 1:1.3 to 1:1.5.
