The invention concerns a method for atmospheric pressure plasma sterilization of surfaces. Said method comprises a first phase which consists in applying a liquid film preferably comprising acid on an object to be treated. It also comprises a second phase which consists in subjecting the object to the action of effluents of a plasma and an oxidizing gas, the plasma being advantageously obtained from argon and the oxidizing gas containing in particular oxygen.
