PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position estimator in which the estimated inclination of a vehicle can be corrected utilizing an optical beacon. SOLUTION: Estimated inclination of a vehicle 1 may be shifted significantly from an actual inclination as shown by an arrow M even when the vehicle 1 is traveling on a lane 2 due to gradual shift of its estimated position. Passage of the vehicle 1 through the receiving area A of a signal from an optical beacon transmitter is detected (when the optical beacon receiver mounted on the vehicle 1 receives a signal from the optical beacon transmitter), and the estimated position of the vehicle 1 is corrected to fall within the receiving area A based on its ID information and the estimated inclination is corrected to be in parallel with the lane 2 as indicated in an arrow N. In place of correcting the estimated inclination to be in parallel with the lane 2, it can be corrected to an angle within a predetermined correction range of inclination. |
