PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grip and release a diffuser by remote control. SOLUTION: A shaft 2 is vertically movably inserted into a housing 1. A chuck 11 is turnably installed on the shaft 2 via an arm 9. An air intake port 13 for gripping and an air intake port 15 for releasing are installed on an upper lid 3 of the housing 1, and compressed air is supplied to a lower or side surface of the shaft 2. When supplying the compressed air to a lower part of the shaft 2, the shaft 2 rises, the arm 9 extends in the horizontal direction, the chuck 11 is inserted into an annular groove 25 of the diffuser 21, and becomes a connecting state. The diffuser 21 is suspended by hooking a wire of an overhead crane on an eye bolt 7 in this state, and is moved in a fuel pool. While, when supplying the compressed air to an outside surface of the shaft 2 from the air intake port 15 for releasing, the shaft 2 is pushed down, the chuck 11 becomes a pulled-back state, and is disconnected from the annular groove 25 so that the connection of the diffuser 21 and a handling device is released.
