PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a novel housing type pipe joint adapted not to cause damage to a gasket when inserting a leading end of a pipe. SOLUTION: This housing type pipe joint is provided with a gasket in the ring shape laid on outer peripheries of ends of both of the pipes to be connected and with one pair of housings to be connected and fixed to each other while holding the gasket. The outer surfaces of the leading ends of both of the pipes to be connected are thinner toward extremity edges, and outer diameters of the extremity edges are smaller than an inner diameter of the gasket.
