PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a large space for installation of a carrying in/out mechanism for a load. SOLUTION: A load support surface 13 and an empty pallet support surface 14 are vertically provided in a lift table 10 of a lift conveying mechanism 1. A carrying in/out mechanism 2 for a load installed in a gate of each floor comprises chain conveyers 3, 3 for conveying a load, chain conveyers 4, 4 for conveying an empty pallet, a first conveyer moving mechanism 5 making the chain conveyers 3, 3 forward backward act from both sideward relating to an opposed position to the load support surface 13 of the lift table 10, a second conveyer moving mechanism 6 making the chain conveyers 4, 4 forward/ backward act from both sideward relating to an opposed position to the empty pallet support surface 14 of the lift table 10, and a pallet loading/unloading mechanism 7 for loading/unloading a loaded pallet relating to the chain conveyers 3, 3 and for loading/unloading the empty pallet relating to the chain conveyers 4, 4.
