PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required for paper feeding action by continuously operating a feed motor without stop at transition of pick processing to skew processing in which rotation direction of the feed motor is the same. SOLUTION: When feeding of a paper from a paper feeding cassette is detected by a paper sensor, a count set value of a counter is switched and set by CPU to a skewing correction step number from a paper feeding step number of a feed motor comprising a stepping motor, by which the operation can move to skewing correction of the paper while keeping the rotation direction and rotation speed of the feed motor as they are, and time required for paper feeding action is reduced since the feed motor is not stopped while paper feeding transits to skewing correction as in the past.
