PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shift the eigenfrequency of an optical box for housing an optical element, etc., to a high-frequency range, in a light beam scanner used for copying machines, printers, facsimiles, etc. SOLUTION: The light beam scanner 1 is provided with a light beam generating means, a light beam deflecting and scanning means, a light beam image forming means, a light beam reflecting means which reflects and converts the optical path of the light beam in an optical box 6, and is fixed to a mounting frame. The cross section of the optical box 6 has a shape, in which an shape wall 6a is formed by a flat surface part 6b and a curved surface part 6c, and, the primary resonance frequency of the optical box 6 is 220 Hz, when the curvature radius of an circular arc is 8.75 mm to an outer wall height of 27 mm. The primary resonance frequency of the optical box, when the outer shape wall has entirely flat surface is 204 Hz, and the primary resonance frequency of the optical box 6 is shifted to the high-frequency side higher by 16 Hz.
